The left’s fear and loathing of Rep. King hearings

Daniel S. writes:

The despicable Islam apologist academic John Esposito has demonstrated the point you made recently about how liberals greatly exaggerate the threat posed by certain so-called conservative figures to establishment liberalism. Today in the Washington Post Esposito denounces New York congressman Peter King for his paper tiger hearings on Islamic extremism. Esposito hurls the charges of Islamophobia and neo-McCarthyism at the congressman, while assuring us that Muslims are as American as apple pie. We are supposed to pretend that the crimes committed by Maj. Nidal Hasan, Anwar al-Awlaki, Faisal Shahzad, Colleen LaRose, Carlos Bledsoe, Khalid Aldawsari, and the countless other Muslims arrested for jihad terrorism (actualized or planned) never happened.

Of course, Rep. King will not deal with the heart of the matter (Islamic doctrine), nor will he advocate the policies needed to end the threat (i.e. ending Muslim immigration). Despite all his ranting, Esposito and his Muslim sponsors have nothing to worry about from King and these hearings.
