Whither blacks in a retrenching America?

Based on the troubles at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, those famous government-backed lending institutions of which he says almost half the beneficiaries are nonwhite, Paul at the blog Stuff Black People Don’t Like ventures that Black Run America (America run for the benefit of blacks) is collapsing.

While his phrasing is somewhat hyperbolic, his underlying thought is not illogical. The racial power and the wildly undeserved financial benefits that U.S. blacks have enjoyed in recent decades are largely a function of government, ranging from government programs such as home mortgages specifically designed for nonwhites who couldn’t pay them back, to government jobs which have become the surest ticket to an assured middle class life style even as the private sector has been struggling, to the instant professional destruction of any white who questions the system of unjust benefits for blacks. As looming bankruptcy forces government to retrench, it is likely that blacks’ power and wealth will begin to reflect more correctly the actual value of their contributions to society.
