Obama told David Brooks off the record a year ago that he was lying about “shovel-ready” projects

(Correction: Obama didn’t say he was lying; he said that he believed the information given to him by his aides, which turned out to be incorrect. However, it took him a year to state on the record that his repeated assurances of a year ago were untrue.)

Now that Obama has admitted on the record to Peter Baker of the New York Times that his statement about “shovel-ready projects” requiring nothing but porkulus funds to get started was not true, Brooks felt free to admit on the NewsHour that Obama had told him the same thing off the record one year ago.

Michelle Malkin has the transcript.
