The Pamela and Robert Anti-Mosque Rally

When critics, including me, remark on the amazing and inappropriate narcissism of the team of Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, that is not us making it up, that is Pamela and Robert throwing their narcissism in our faces, so that it’s impossible to ignore.

Consider Robert’s entry at Jihad Watch about yesterday’s anti-mosque rally. The page consists of a series of 12 large photos, showing the following:

  1. A shot of the crowd.
  2. Geert Wilders speaking
  3. Pamela speaking
  4. Robert speaking
  5. Mike Gallagher speaking
  6. Ilario Pantano speaking
  7. Joseph Nasralla speaking
  8. Larger than life image of Robert and Pamela on TV screen above speakers’ stand
  9. Pamela speaking, Robert smiling
  10. Pamela speaking, Robert laughing
  11. Larger than life image of Robert and Pamela on TV screen above speakers’ stand
  12. Pamela being thanked by person in crowd

If Pamela and Robert think that it’s unfair and a distraction from more important issues for their critics to talk out how narcissistic they are, maybe they should try to restrain their narcissism. But I don’t think they are capable of that, because they are so deeply immersed in their narcissism that they are not aware of it. They have drowned in their own adored reflection, just like the original Narcissus of Greek myth.
