Celebrity billionaire puts his strong orthodox Jewish beliefs into action

Also from today’s New York Post, here’s yet another variation on the inversion that is our norm, showing how the abnormal mixes itself up with the normal, and even goes so far as to place itself under the rubric of tradition.

Ronald Perelman expecting 7th child

Ronald Perelman is soon going to be a father for the seventh time, Page Six has confirmed.

The billionaire Revlon chairman and his girlfriend, Dr. Anna Chapman—a Harvard-educated psychiatrist who’s dated Perelman for 4 1/2 years—are expecting a child through a surrogate in December.

Chapman told us the baby is their biological child, but prefers to keep its gender a secret for now.

“We had some trials and tribulations getting to this point, and we are both thrilled,” Chapman said. The surrogate has not been identified.

Perelman has four grown children with his first wife—Steven, Josh, Hope and Debra—and daughters Samantha by wife No. 2, Page Six alumna Claudia Cohen, and Caleigh by third wife Patricia Duff. Samantha and Caleigh live with him and Chapman.

“All the children are really excited,” Chapman said, adding they were already discussing names.

Chapman converted to Judaism last year because of Perelman’s strong Orthodox beliefs. But there’s no word if Chapman will marry Perelman, whose previous marriages have resulted in numerous headlines.

A glowing Chapman and Perelman were recently spotted looking cozy at a benefit for Harlem’s Apollo Theater at his East Hampton estate, The Creeks, where stars including Jon Bon Jovi, John Legend and soul legend Sam Moore performed.

A source close to Perelman added, “They are very happy together, and a baby is something they’ve both really wanted for a while. Friends say they’ve never seen Ronald happier or more content.”

Ronald Perelman sounds like the Jewish equivalent of Mel Gibson.
