Raquel Welch on our liberated culture

If an aging sex symbol like me starts waving the red flag of caution over how low moral standards have plummeted, you know it’s gotta be pretty bad.

On your entry, “Raquel Welch on the liberated culture she helped spawn,” I feel I have to put in a good word for Raquel Welch, whom I don’t think can be blamed for helping spawn the liberated cultere, at least intentionally. Even in the 1970s, she seemed like a rather old-fashioned sex symbol: she never appeard nude in a movie or posed nude for Playboy. I give her credit for visiting the troops in Vietnam during the hight of the war.

Someone like Madonna revels in tearing down standards. I doubt that Raquel Welch ever had that intention.

LA replies:

You’re right. The title of the entry is incorrect. I’ll change it.
