A statement so surrealistically off-note that only a Time apparatchik could have thought of it.

In a short item today on the newly elected U.S. senator from Massachusetts, Scott Brown, Time says that “the Republican has drawn criticism for possibly being the one vote that could change the health care plan’s outcome.”

This would be like saying about Barack Obama in October 2008 that “the Democrat has drawn criticism for possibly being the Democratic nominee for president.”
