The Churchillian appeaser

Looking back at the ruinous presidency of George W. Bush, the consequences of which are still very much with us, Matthew H. at his blog Stag Heath writes:

… we were told that “Islam is a religion of peace,” and, in effect, that all Americans were equally likely to be terrorists, from your pregnant wife to the Congressional Medal of Honor winner, General Joe Foss. Despicable. Evil. Words fail to describe such an insult, such a craven act of treachery, such a damned lie.
