Liberalism versus Christianity, cont.

Yes, liberalism would not have come into existence without Christianity, and liberalism can fairly be described as a secularized offshoot of Christianity. But, as Markus demonstrates in a concise comment, liberalism is the denial of Christianity. Therefore to make Christianity responsible for liberalism, as so many on the anti-Christian right do, is fallacious.
