The leftist demonization of white conservatives goes up another notch

A reader sent me this video of Chris Matthews saying the most appalling thing about Sarah Palin and her supporters. I’ve transcribed the main part, but to get the pure blast of it, you should watch the video before reading my transcript.

* * *

After the very pretty, very PC on scene reporter (I think her name is O’Donnell) shows the people waiting on line at a Palin book signing at a shopping mall in Michigan, Matthews, in the studio, says:

Well, they look like a white crowd to me. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but it is pretty monochromatic up here. No surprise in terms of the ethnic nature of the people showing up. Nothing wrong with that. But it is a fact. I think there’s a tribal aspect to this thing, in other words, whites versus other people. I think she’s very smart about this.

Here she is on the issue of what happened down at Fort Hood….

Then to support his thesis that Palin was riling up white people against nonwhites, he showed a clip of her saying that in order to prevent an attack such as occurred at Fort Hood, we need to have profiling. Matthew then says something about how profiling means stopping people for “driving while black.”

But what about the profiling Matthews was using on the people who were simply standing in line to get a book signed? He was calling them racists for existing while white.

Precisely. And isn’t he in turn profiling (according to his views) his fellow Proles of various ethnicities for simply not being on line or supporting Palin? Total disconnect. I really don’t understand this guy. He was always a fool, but since his famous “Thrill up my leg” comment he is a virtual laughing stock that no one takes seriously. Doesn’t he realize that? On a serious note. What does concern me about the constant beating up on Palin by the left is that it could actually get her elected in 2012, purely from a ticked off reactionary public. A ‘lets stick it to left’ vote more then anything else.
