Why pro-lifers are single issue

In a post yesterday, Terry Morris and I were critical of the pro-life movement for the single-issue orientation it displayed in opposing abortion funding in the health care bill while declaring neutrality as to the rest of the bill. In a comment today, Tim W. explains that the pro-life movement has always been a single-issue movement, and not a conservative movement per se, because, from the start, it included pro-life liberals.
