This must not be accepted

The announcement of the Attorney General’s astounding decision on a Friday, while the President was on the other side of the world, reveals the bad faith in which these men are acting. The decision itself is without precedent in modern American history—in the political and national security damage and emotional trauma it will cause, in the contempt it displays toward the country’s well being, and in its utter needlessness. Fortunately, it has no force of law. It is nothing more than an administrative decision by the Attorney General, and it can be reversed. If the public, the Congress, and the less crazy elements of the news media rose as one and said to the administration, “This is an outrage against America, this must not be, you must not bring these enemies to a mainland criminal court and give them the rights of criminal defendants, you must not subject the country to this nightmare,” the administration could be forced to backtrack.

I don’t have a plan, but here’s a simple way to start. There are millions of Americans who are outraged and appalled by this decision, let’s say as a very conservative guess ten million. What if every one of those ten people called their senators and representative demanding that Congress tell Obama in the strongest terms that this decision is unacceptable and must be rescinded. And flood the White House switch board. And call your local newspaper and news radio station. In 2007 a few hundred thousand volunteer telephone callers for NumbersUSA stopped an immigration bill that Rush Limbaugh and others thought was inevitable. We have potential numbers far greater than that.

Here are some Lucianne.com responses to Andrew McCarthy’s article on this terrible decision which I linked last night.

Eric Holder, like Obama. is being pushed along by what one writer described as new found ‘Black Ego’ … in other words, ‘lets show whitey what we can do now that we are in power and to hell with the disaster that will be the outcome’ !

It’ like the opera buff that normally sings tenor in the chorus finally getting a chance at a lead role as a baritone … and takes it knowing he can’t perform at that level.

We can try the terrorists in an American court of law; however, we, as American citizens, have no standing to put before an American court the legitimacy of the current resident of our White House. It certainly makes sense to me … s/o

Is there truly nothing we can do to stop this madness? It is so clearly wrong to do what Holder intends, and the damage it will do to our security is so immense, there must be some way to derail this. Would a million citizens marching on Washington do it?

Reply 4—Posted by: so_free_me, 11/14/2009 8:27:27 AM

It will provide endless fodder for the transnational Left to press its case that actions taken in America’s defense are violations of international law that must be addressed by foreign courts.

We are galloping towards an international court whose dictums will have no effect on China, India and others, but will be used to castrate the USA.

Anyone seen Demolition Man lately? That is what the Left wants us all to look like.

Rush read this yesterday on his show. Like the rest of us, he is incensed over this blatant attempt to cripple our national defense.

My lawyer husband says there is no way to overturn this decision except by the AG himself, but what about public opinion and pressure? What about a march on DC, a HUGE one?

This Administration, it has become clear, is doing everything in its power, including NOT saluting the flag (the cretin), to tear the country down from within.

And here we sit, helpless as we watch. Can we rely on ANY Democrats in Congress to pressure this rotten excuse for a President to change his mind?

I demand of our representatives in the House and Senate to rise up and call this move by Obama what it is—TREASON.

This announcement by Holder is a very sinister development. These people (Obama and his horde of Orcs) are truly trying to destroy the United States.

Reply 7—Posted by: oh-heck, 11/14/2009 8:34:48 AM

No good side for America—increased terror risk, increased expense, increased terrorist recruiting throughout, perception of US weakness, exposure of means and methods, potential (small) that KSM could be released.

Potential political good—Bush admin gets smeared

Actual cost—Actually counter terrorism gets 10 times harder in the future.

Oh yeah. Exactly the kind of program Obama would support: lose, win, lose.

Reply 8—Posted by: mythman, 11/14/2009 8:46:53 AM

McCarthy is spot on. To his insights should be added that the ACLU demanded this trial be moved to a federal court in the US. This was confirmed by a high ACLU lawyer/executive in an NPR interview yesterday or Thursday that I heard.

The strategy seems clear: 1)claim torture 2) blame Bush if the case is thrown out because of torture 3)claim that the suspects can’t get a fair trial in the US, particularly in NYC.

Obama is just giving MFT to them, Most Favored Terrorist status.

Reply 10—Posted by: cobieone, 11/14/2009 8:51:27 AM

This article says it all. The Obama administration is giving the left exactly what they want … the Bush administration on trial for “torture”, “hidden CIA prisons”, the War On Terror itself! This should be the breaking point for the American people, but I’m not sure it will. PURE TREASON by the Obama administration!

#5 is on to something; we know we can fill the streets of DC with law abiding conservatives, but it would be downplayed by the MSM. If this is to be an anti-Bush, pro-terrorist show trial, perhaps a healthy dose of civil disobedience is in order. Take a page from their own book kinda thing—and of course, clean up our mess when we’re done.

This will give The FOF (Friends of Flapears) just the forum to defend their form of Islam and play victim to America’s perceived abuse of their Arab lands or people. Buzzo is one of them. Plus the attorney’s representing and prosecuting this, the court fees, transcripts, paralegal teams will cost a fortune at a time when the US not only has no money but are in debt up to our grandchildren’s ears. Lose/Lose for USA. I’m for millions march on DC!

GOALS:

1) Change media coverage from economy during 2010 election cycle

2) Motivate the base to vote for Dems

3) Provide data to Int’l Court for prosecution of Bush Admin

4) Motivate terrorists to attack on US

soil, resulting in martial law

5) Blame & Shut down conservative media

6) With attention diverted from economy, execute full destruction of capitalism

Question = Will the People & the Supreme Court act before the UN is our ruling body?

The Low Tech Response:

Organize a HUGE DEMONSTRATION in New York at the Courthouse where the trial will be, OR at the various MSM News Outlets, protesting this stupid decision and repeat it over and over.

Reply 18—Posted by: maryc, 11/14/2009 9:54:43 AM

Obama’s team is the perfect storm to bring down the USA:

kill the economy…. record deficits and still spending

kill the CIA…. divulge all security secrets to punish Bush and cripple future disaster prevention

Destroy the military..leave them hanging in Afghanistan to be picked off and tie their hands so they fail or just let terrorists infiltrate and murder .

Obama is the perfect president for all of our enemies who want the US to fail.

Regardless of where he was born..he’s no American and hasn’t a scrap of patriotism. Every time I see him any where near our military I’m disgusted.

Does anyone know why the US did not actually declare war after 9/11? Since when, I ask, does a declaration of war against the US result in “prosecuting” the enemy? In wars past when we captured fighters from the other side, we held them until the proverbial “end of the war”. If they weren’t wearing uniforms, they would be shot as spies. These detainess are not wearing uniforms—hint hint. By prosecuting them it opens up a pandora’s box of negatives. It also implies they might have a set sentence and actually be released one day. Remember what happened later in “Saving Private Ryan” when we let the one German soldier go? It’s almost as if the Feds/Obama in particular want to subsidize/aid/abet Al Quedas goals. They are allowing us to take additional terrorist hits on the US homeland. Earlier this past century if a foreigner went on a shooting rampage he would probably be strung up in the town square on the same day the atrocities happened-end of issue. But no we have to play nice. Nice doesn’t win the war.

The facts are that the Enemy’s Fifth Column has been embedded for some time, systematically sapping the nation’s strength and resolve, compiling lists of its enemies and useful idiots marked for elimination, and patiently waiting until the proper alignment of moment, place, and power occurs to implement an ideology designed to destroy our liberties and way of life. They are moving fast now because they know the time is short. The final step will be to totally stifle all freedom of dissent and the means to communicate among those who resist their aims. Do not be surprised if not long hence all of us will not be posting on an internet forum like we do now, due to a combination of technological interdiction and official intimidation.

My friends, we are entering a long, dark tunnel, emerging into an uncertain future. May God protect you, your loved ones, and the Liberty that is the mainspring of everything we hold dear. “Vincit qui patitur”

It is also no accident that Holder picked NYC for the venue of the trial. It has the following advantages to further their anti-American agenda:

1) It gives the defense an excellent opportunity to have the case eventually dismissed. They can request a change of venue for reasons that the defendants can’t get a fair trial there. If denied, they can claim the denial itself was unfair.

2) NYC is the world’s media center for both TV and print media. The NYT in particular will be rabid in its coverage of every sordid detail. They are hyper-partisan, and Holder knows that.

3) Lastly, this is a symbolic “in yo face”. What could be more humiliating to the United States than to have the Muslims returning to the scene of their terrorism, defiant, and taunting us with their rantings? And particularly, if the terrorists are found innocent, whether on a technicality or otherwise, what better way to announce “Yes, we did it, and you are powerless to stop us.”

Dear Mr. Holder:

What will you do when 50 Islamo-terrorists seize an entire 80 story building in NYC, filled with 10,000 workers, and they plant dynamite throughout? Then they threaten to blow it all up, including themselves, unless all on trial are taken to Kennedy airport 8 miles away and placed on an Iranian plane and flown out of the country? Then they blow up the building anyway! You see——-you stupid twit——-NOW, thanks to you, that’s very doable.

They know where the trial will be held, where the prisoners are kept and the means of escape is close at hand. All thanks to Obammy!

Question for the next Administration: can Holder and Obama now be considered “enemy combatants”?

Reply 24—Posted by: fed-up, 11/14/2009 10:40:26 AM

Do you think the light bulb is going on to the decent middle of the road citizens, yet? It is our only hope that they do. To think we have even 1 elected offical that cannot see the motive this man has for our country is sad. I say if there is enough new blood that starts right now to say what we here are saying..elect them. We need some leaders in our capitol not a bunch of blood suckers looking out for their next kickback. Im sick of them all!

Overwhelm and exhaust New Yorkers. Tremendous expense to city and state budgets—then will need assistance from federal government to help keep order?

Meanwhile, Guantanamo Detention Center gets emptied out—it is shut down and then the decision is made to shut down the Naval Base as if the only reason to have had it was for the detention center.

Meanwhile, withdrawal from Afghanistan like Vietnam—another unbearable prospect, to think of another Saigon—but this time, the Taliban, and what they will do to the women now and also their husbands who let their daughters go to school—of course, this will not worry our American feminists -

Maybe China doesn’t like us over there either, in THEIR ever-expanding sphere. We need to be thrown off our pins.

Get us in a real pickle, Obama, Holder, et al, so we can’t do anything about anything.

Reply 26—Posted by: stryker714, 11/14/2009 10:41:36 AM

Yes I agree with #22. The timing of the KSM trial announcement post Ft Hood is no accident either. It is supposed to appease those who ask “what are you doing to protect us?”. It has MUCH hidden agenda. It’s as if a scarlett letter has been given to all New Yorkers. It is as if to say E.H.: “Well they committed the crimes THERE, so you know we have to try them THERE. It’s what you WANT, isn’t it?! It serves JUSTICE doesn’t it?” Ah the angst it will cause New Yorkers to try them there. It is very unwise to bring them back to NY but E.H. doesn’t care.
