Are Christianity and America inherently suicidal?

Last night, Kevin V. said that core statements of both the Christian religion and the American founding are “inherently” liberal and must lead Americans and Christians toward suicidal universalism. In a reply tonight, Clark Coleman says that any true statement is inevitably going to be misinterpreted; that there is a difference between the true meaning of a statement and it misinterpretation; and that Kevin is giving authority and power to misinterpretations.

Update Oct. 22: Kevin has replied to Mr. Coleman and me.
