Our clownish “culture”

Here is local TV coverage I just happened to see on the Web concerning David Letterman’s first show since his sex scandal began. (Except that how can consensual sexual relations between consenting adults be a sex scandal in a society which believes that all consensual sexual relations between consenting adults is ok? And since the Lawrence v. Texas decision in 2003, it’s in the Constitution that it’s ok.) The reason I’ve posted this was that I was struck by the clownishness of the news personnel, followed by the first man in the street respondent who says, inevitably, “It’s time to move on, we’re all human.” At that point I turned it off.

But what about the feminists? Even if Letterman’s relations with female staffers was entirely consensual, the fact is that women who are willing to become intimately involved with a boss will have a professional advantage over those who aren’t. But forget about the feminists, they are as burnt out as a house that burned to the ground ten years ago.
