Thankfully, someone said it, to her face

Lindsay Graham to Sonia Sotomayor about her “wise Latina” remark:

If I had said anything like that, my career would have been over.

Good for Graham. But saying this is not enough to clinch the point that must be made. What he needed to say was:
Since any white person’s career would have been automatically destroyed by his making such a comment, if we confirm you, then we are officially establishing America as a double standard country in which nonwhites are given license to make statements that white people are prohibited from making on pain of having their careers destroyed.
