PIpes on Netanyahu

Daniel Pipes’s opinion of Benjamin Netanyahu is just like mine, also more so. We both think Bibi was a massive disappointment as prime minister between 1996 and 1999, that he is an inconsistent figure and cannot be trusted. But whereas I thought that Netanyahu’s inconsistency derived from confused thinking and an inability to stay with principle, Pipes says he is a deceiver who will do and say anything to acquire and stay in power.

Also, Pipes, like me, devoutly hopes that Netanyahu has changed, and that he will keep his pledge to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. Because Netanyahu is at this point the only thing standing in the way of a world with a nuclear armed Shi’ite country drunk on visions of an Islamic apocalypse.
