An extreme leftist on Gaza

When it comes to Israel-hatred, Taki is a mere child compared to Jennifer Loewenstein, a way, way, way out-there leftist who is associate director of the Middle East Studies Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In an outpouring at Alexander Cockburn’s Counterpunch, Loewenstein tells us what the Gaza conflict is really about:

Strip away the clichés and the vacuous newspeak blaring out across the servile media and its pathetic corps of voluntary state servants in the Western world and what you will find is the naked desire for hegemony; for power over the weak and dominion over the world’s wealth.

Loewenstein’s article is long, overheated, and only semi-coherent. But what she seems to be saying is that Israel’s conflict with the Palestinians is really just another manifestation of the oppression of the poor by the evil, evil rich.
