Motormouth does it again

First Sen. Biden declared that he was not the best pick for VP—Hillary was. Meaning that Barack Obama’s most important decision was a bad one. Now Biden criticizes Obama’s ad that attacked McCain for being computer-illiterate, calling it “terrible.” But of course every Obama ad (like all political ads, as mandated by law) has Obama say at the end, “I’m Barack Obama and I approved this ad.” So you have the vice presidential nominee saying that the presidential nominee did something “terrible.” This is just not done. This is below the level of minimal political competence. This is behavior that would get candidate kicked off a ticket for city council.

It has been evident for at least the last 20 years that Joe Biden is not all there, with his organs of speech strangely disconnected from his organs of thought, and attached instead to his outsized, out-of-control narcissism. Yet he’s the one Obama picked for vice president. McCain has gotten a lot of criticism for choosing a running mate who may not be qualified to be president. But what does Obama’s choice of this ludicrous gasbag to be a heart beat from the presidency demonstrate about his judgment? At least from a vote-getting point of view Palin has some real talent and adds something to the ticket. What does Biden add?

Being the quintessential motormouth whose linguistic leaps are well known, I believe this is a setup. Nobody could be that stupid. With Palin doing so well, the Democratic money bags have invested too much of their gelt into this election, and they will not allow this mediocre VP candidate stand in their way of gaining power. They want Hillary on the ticket and Biden is willing to take the dive.
