Heston on the Culture War

Here is Charlton Heston’s February 1999 speech, “Winning the Cultural War,” delivered at, of all places, Harvard. Heston has decency, good instincts, intelligence, common sense. It’s a stirring read. If more people spoke the way he did our country would be in much better shape. But what I don’t see in the speech is a conceptual grasp of liberalism that ties together the various liberal phenomena he’s talking about so that they can be effectively opposed.
