Did the races evolve by natural selection?

While I reject the Darwinian theory that random variation and natural selection explain the origin of species, I’ve always thought that those two factors could explain differentiation within a species, particularly the human species. Thus the famous “Ice Age” theory of human intelligence—which says that the selective pressures of cold climates during the Ice Age boosted IQ and led to other important changes in northern peoples that sharply differentiated them from those who remained in Africa—has always made sense to me. But does it hold up under Stove’s argument? Here I discuss the possible impact of Stove’s ideas on the Ice Age theory of human racial differentiation.
