An infinite series of questions, or the simple, self-evident truth?

According to the materialists, when believers say that God created the universe, they are just answering the question of existence with another question which still needs to be answered: “And what created God?” Thus the statement that God created the universe is an empty and meaningless assertion, a fruitless attempt to escape, via an infinite regress, the true materialist reality that believers refuse to face. I reply to the infinite regress argument here.
