How to get a rise out of the liberal culture

In today’s world, conceiving a child through a sperm donor—i.e., the man masturbates into a test tube, and the sperm is then injected into the woman’s vagina via a syringe, with the man and woman having no physical contact with each other and in most cases not even meeting—is very common, is considered perfectly ok, and is not even a topic of discussion. For a lesbian like Elizabeth Cheney to conceive a child via a sperm donor and then raise the child with her lesbian “partner” is considered not only ok but an epochal event to celebrate. But when Lisa Evans of Cheshire, England met the sperm donor in person and went to bed with him three times to conceive a child, the Daily Mirror describes it as “unorthodox,” “controversial,” “unedifying,” and “unsavory,” and as requiring some explanation by Lisa, who also seems a bit shamefaced about it, though she’s still glad she did it.

In liberal society, where the technical manipulation of reality to meet every possible human desire is the organizing principle, a woman being artificially inseminated by the sperm of a suitable stranger to produce a child is normal, while a woman having sexual relations with a suitable stranger to produce a child is abnormal and a bit scandalous.
