Spencer writes about Ali’s return to Europe

Three days after the media reported the blockbuster news that the woman he has called his hero, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, whose life is under threat every day of her life, was being compelled against her wishes to return to the Netherlands because neither the Dutch government nor the U.S. government would pay for her security in the U.S., Robert Spencer has mentioned the matter at Jihad Watch. He says he was too “swamped” with other work to write about it until now. I guess that solves the mystery of Spencer’s odd silence that I have commented on over the last couple of days. Except that a quick search of the main page of Jihad Watch, where Spencer’s remark appears, reveals nineteen blog entries that were posted by him (not counting blog posts by other JW contributors) since Monday afternoon, when the news about Ali broke. So, Spencer’s anti-Islamic champion, whose life is in continual danger, was forced to leave America because no one would protect her life, and Spencer posted nineteen blog entries on assorted topics over a period of three days before getting to the one about her, and then he says he was too busy to do it until now. I think it’s fair to say there’s still something of a mystery here.

Also, Michelle Malkin and HotAir had brief items on the Ali story on Monday afternoon, which did not turn up in my earlier Google search today.
