Vlaams Belang leaders arrested at Brussels demonstration

Despite being banned by the mayor of Brussels as a threat to public order, the demonstration against the Islamization of Europe proceeded on September 11. Two leaders of Vlaams Belang who attended the demonstration were arrested. According to Reuters, the demonstrators were outnumbered by police and reporters.

I’ve criticized the Stop the Islamization of Europe organization because it takes no stand on immigration. However, I was not aware that Vlaams Belang, which is an immigration restrictionist party, is part of SIOE, which would seem to change the complexion of things.
