Block on VFR at various ISPs removed
In recent months, readers have occasionally told me that VFR was blocked at various computers, particularly in public libraries here and there around the country. Then last week, a reader told me about a library in Georgia where VFR was blocked and labeled “Extreme” by a service called SmartFilter. This gave me something to act on. I e-mailed SmartFilter and told them that VFR is not an extreme website. I soon heard back from them that they had determined that the labeling of VFR as “extreme” was a mistake and that it was now placed under the “political” category instead of the “Extreme” category.
Also, a reader who could not access VFR from his work computer has succeeded in getting the block on VFR removed. Email entry |
