Free Republic debating the leftist character of modern conservatism!

Another substantive article of mine about liberalism from several years ago, “The basically leftist character of modern conservatism,” originally posted at VFR in July 2002, was posted Thursday at Free Republic. It has set off quite a discussion among the Freepers.
