Change in British curriculum

Several readers have sent me the story about “Churchill being dropped” from the British school syllabus for 11-to-14 year olds. But it’s not about Churchill being dropped. It’s about history being dropped. It’s about Britain as a country being dropped. So naturally Churchill is also being dropped. Here are the articles from ABC News and This is London.

However, for entirely understandable reasons, I seem to be alone in not seeing the elimination of Churchill as the significant aspect of the rewritten syllabus. Thus Tiberge at Galliawatch entitles her blog entry on the same subject “Their Worst Hour.” That’s good.
