An immigration debate, 2004

From February 2004, a month after President Bush first proposed his Kill America scheme, here are two VFR entries that should be of interest. The first is a lively debate centering around a self-described conservative visitor to VFR who attacked me and other immigration restrictionists as “xenophobes” who feel “threatened” by open immigration (I replied to him: you’re damned right I feel threatened by it!), and the second is my answer to his challenge, what is the American culture that I am defending?
