Liberal logic

Bill Richardson Lopez, as he now calls himself, is the one-time Clintonite, present New Mexico governor, and (he officially hopes) next president of the United States who when he declared his candidacy earlier this week explained to an interviewer why he was doing it in California, the state with the largest Hispanic population:

I am saying “It’s Bill Richardson Lopez and I am one of you and I would like you to consider me, not because I am Hispanic but because I have the best program for the country.” [Italics added.]

Mark Krikorian at the Corner today quotes Wild Bill’s latest effort to have it both ways:

“I don’t use that word—no, no, no. I want a legalization program that does not provide amnesty.”
