This bill is so bad, it’s good

If my below reading of the legalization provisions in the proposed bill is correct, then I think things are not looking as bad as some had thought. Given the sheer insanity of the legalization provisions, I can’t imagine the bill being passed by the Congress. Further, according to the New York Times, the backers of the bill see it as their last chance to enact a Comprehensive National Suicide law during the Busheron presidency. So, if this tortuously wrought compromise fails to win support, that’s it—no enchilada, and no Busheron legacy, except of course for Iraq destroyed, and thousands of Americans dead and maimed, all in the name of spreading democracy to Muslims.
