If liberalism is a religion, does that mean religion is bad?

In the linked discussion, Alan Roebuck argues that liberalism is a religion that must have its heretics and its infidels. Mark P. worries that to attack liberalism in its capacity as a religion is to attack religion as such, and I reply.
