The good Pipes versus the evil Livingstone

As I said the other week, Daniel Pipes the intellectual talking about the nature of Islam is the problem; Daniel Pipes the activist challenging radical Muslims (and their leftist apologists) is the solution. The good Pipes was on display in a recent debate in London against the vile Communist pro-terrorist mayor of that city, Ken Livingstone. Indeed, the entire day-long event was set up with Pipes as the “right-wing” scapegoat, yet, according to Daniel Johnson writing in the New York Sun and Melanie Phillips who expands on Johnson’s account, Pipes won over many in the audience by saying bracing things they have never heard before, such as that with Britain’s hospitality to radical Muslims, “Your city is a threat to the rest of the world.” The debate can be seen on YouTube.

Was the debate damaging to the Western left and its Islamic clients/patrons? You bet. As Melanie Phillips informs us, the BBC reported the debate only in its Arab language broadcasts and on its Arab language webpage.
