Will never-married mother of four be France’s next president?

From the fact that Ségolène Royal, the newly chosen presidential candidate of France’s Socialist party, is the “civil partner” of the head of the Socialist party, François Hollande, and mother of their four children, I had thought that she was being pushed forward as an affirmative action candidate, a pretty face. In fact she has had many positions in government including being “president” of a region, whatever that means, and has been striving hard for the Socialist nomination since last spring. Among other things, she pledges to pass a law legalizing homosexual “marriage” if she is elected president. She had something of a harrowing childhood, as told in an interesting Wikipedia article about her.

Now get this, from Brussels Journal:

Royal: France’s next president

A prediction: If Chirac, who is a political serial killer, succeeds in destroying Sarkozy’s bid for the presidency (as Chirac seems intent on doing) the second round of the elections will be fought between Royal and Le Pen, and Royal will become France’s next president.
