The new conservative message: there is no God, and man is not special

Wesley J. Smith writing in First Things shows the falsity of John Derbyshire’s radical materialist belief, amounting to nihilism, that man is simply a part of nature, along with acorns and honey bees, and represents nothing special, a credo he was allowed to disseminate in the pages of America’s supposed flagship conservative magazine. You can’t help but wonder: Among the persons exercising authority at that publication, is there a single intellectual adult?
