Nowheresville on the Tigris

The snivelling little bureaucrats dressed up as as our top generals, each with about six acres of stupid ribbons on his chest, Peter (Weepy) Pace and John (Third Assistant Clerk) Abizaid, were before a Congressional committee today and had nothing to say other than that it’s going to be a long hard slog (to where?), mixed in with lots of hackneyed music and poetry about the glory of our cause (To Make the World Safe for Shia Islam?). Meanwhile, Britain’s outgoing ambassador to Iraq, William Patey, told his government that low-level civil war is Iraq’s likely future for many years to come.
