Anarcho-tyranny: one of the organizing concepts of our time

The Norwegian writer Fjordman at the Brussels Journal remains alert to the meaning of the unfolding calamity in Europe. He writes:

The less control the authorities have with Muslims, the more control they want to exercise over non-Muslims. As problems in Europe get worse, which they will, the EU will move in an increasingly repressive direction until it either becomes a true, totalitarian entity or falls apart. This strange mix of powerful censorship of public debate, yet little control over public law and order, has by some been labelled anarcho-tyranny.

Fjordman’s observations are, of course, true. Furthermore, we need to understand that the contradictory-sounding term anarcho-tyranny is not a contradiction. As I explained here, it simply means that liberalism gives liberty to speech and actions that undermine traditional Western order, such as street crime, sexual license, degraded entertainment, treason, and every kind of anti-Western manifestation including Islamic jihad, while it restrains speech and actions defending Western order. It’s not a double standard at all. It’s a single standard, aimed at the destruction of the West.

However, I must point out that this important phenomenon was not labeled anarcho-tyranny by some unnamed “some,” but by the late paleoconservative thinker Samuel Francis. Fjordman informs me that he did not know who had coined the term and that he will mention Francis in future references.
