Boehner is on our side, or so it seems …

Good news. House Majority Leader John Boehner said on Sunday that combining border security with a guest worker program would place “the cart before the horse.” “I’m for securing the borders and enforcing the laws,” Boehner said on ABC’s This Week. “Until we do that, if you try to create a guest-worker program, all you’re doing is inviting more illegal immigration.”

Great—but (the fly in the ointment, the elephant in the living room) what about amnesty? Remember, Robert Samuelson’s fierce denunciation of a guest worker program led us to believe that he is against amnesty, when in fact he supports it.
