A beautiful painting of Madonna and Christ

The day before Christmas, Jim Kalb sent an e-mail Christmas card with a painting so exceptionally beautiful that I would like to share it, if belatedly, as a final expression of the Christmas season. In fact, since New Year’s has never meant that much to me (it’s just a change in the number on the calendar after all), I will leave this painting at the top of the main page through the New Year and beyond. It is Fra Angelico’s The Virgin and Child with SS Dominic and Thomas Aquinas, a fresco painted between 1424 and 1430.
