Anti-American right and anti-American left meet
Joseph Sobran, as everyone who has read him in recent years knows, resents Israel with a whining, embittered, consuming passion (indeed, to read Sobran on Israel is like reading Sayyid Qutb on the Jews); and he resents America almost equally as much for being Israel’s friend. Now Sobran expresses his high admiration for none other than Ramsay Clark, one of the premier anti-Americans of our time, who is defending Saddam Hussein in his O.J. Simpson-like trial in Baghdad.
