Vonnegut descends into the abyss

Kurt Vonnegut, who 35 years ago in Slaughterhouse Five portrayed the World War II bombing of Dresden as a monstrous crime against humanity, is now praising Muslim suicide bombers. His comments are too sickening for me to quote—you can read them here. What common thread would unite these two seemingly opposite positions? The answer seems obvious: the bombing of Dresden—which Vonnegut damned—was done by America’s British ally, while suicide bombing—which Vonnegut celebrates—is done by America’s Muslim enemies. Isn’t it amazing how, step by step, the once humane cause of liberalism resolves itself into nothing but America-hatred?
