Peggy Noonan, doomsayer

Peggy Noonan, who used to be the very voice of sentimental Reaganite optimism, now sees American civilization threatening to crack apart in innumerable directions at once. Noonan is not a thinker, and so doesn’t attempt to identify any common thread to the looming disaster. But she certainly feels and senses it coming. She says the elites know it too, even Ted Kennedy, and are just looking to survive in their own little personal niches, for as long as they last.
