Horatio at the Bridge? Or canary in the coal mine?

In response to an e-mail I sent out with a bunch of recent VFR postings, a reader writes:

Keep it coming. We may well lose, but we’ll know that Larry Auster died fighting.

Hey, thanks a lot!

It’s a few minutes later, and I’m still laughing. The normal thing is to say, “We may lose, but at least we’ll die fighting.” My friend reversed that and said, “WE may lose, but YOU’LL die fighting.”
