From prophet of doom to gay-rights advocate

During the discussion the other day about Jerry Falwell’s incredible support for John Roberts despite his having given legal assistance to the homosexual-rights activists in Romer v. Evans, no one mentioned the most mind-boggling thing about Falwell’s amazing comments. But in an e-mail I quoted earlier today, Carl Simpson underscored it:

Jerry Falwell, the guy who stated that 9/11 was divine punishment for all of the rampant homosexuality, now solemnly intones his support for gay rights on TV!
