Radical Islam—or just, uh, Islam?

Hassan al-Banna, who founded the radical Islamic organization the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928, gave the group the motto it still uses today:

God is our purpose, the Prophet our leader, the Quran our constitution, jihad our way, and dying for God our supreme objective.
A bracingly clear and concise formulation. Indeed, it is the clearest and most concise formulation I have ever heard—of Islam.
