The marvel of Islamic architecture

In my article on the doomed search for moderate Islam, I described medieval Islam as a “parasite civilization,” dependent on the skills and talents of its subject peoples, and dying out when it had consumed those people in the ongoing crushing taxation and degradation of dhimmitude. There is undoubtedly a lot of truth in that picture.

However, if we are going to call Islam a parasite civilization, we’ve got to account for a marvelous, spiritual creation like this, the Mahan mosque in Kerman, Iran, built in the 1300s:
