A people under God

I was thinking about how Americans think of themselves as a “nation under God.” But what was history’s first “nation under God”? It was ancient Israel, of course. And, though I don’t know that much about him, the right-wing Israeli politician Moshe Feiglin stands out because what he wants is to make Israel a nation—a people—under God once again. A people. Under God. That is inspiring.
