A conservative triumph?

The interesting question whether the election is, as all mainstream conservatives maintain, a great and historic triumph of conservatism over liberalism, or, as some more skeptical souls are saying, a pathetically narrow win by a weak Republican president over a leftist anti-American appeaser whom, by all rights, the president should have crushed by a margin of 20 percentage points in the popular vote and 500 votes in the electoral college, will have to wait for fuller exploration. For the moment, I simply want to indicate a single datum, and let the reader draw his own conclusions: The standard bearer of this great conservative victory is now on record supporting the official state recognition of homosexual relationships.
