Homo erectus Hobbits lived in Indonesia until 11,000 B.C.

A newly discovered species of Hobbit-sized hominids, named Homo floresiensis, lived in the Indonesian island of Flores from about 95,000 years ago to about 13,000 years ago. Three feet tall, they were an offshoot of Homo erectus and developed into a dwarf form on the isolated island. Homo sapiens reached Australia about 45,000 years ago but bypassed Flores, and so the two species co-existed in near promixity for tens of thousands of years.

As one might have expected, Steve Sailer has some interesting material expanding on this subject.
