The tight presidential race

The Rasmussen Reports tracking poll shows Bush with a one point lead over Kerry, and an electoral lead that has narrowed to 46 votes today from 71 votes last week, as a result of Rasmussen’s moving New Jersey and Maryland back from the toss-up column to the “leans Kerry” column. I’m surprised the second debate didn’t help Bush more. As I’ve suggested, my reaction to Bush’s performance (very positive) may have been out of step with that of most people (or rather with that of most people who are still undecided).
