Kamikaze Kerry
According to a Deborah Orin column, “Kamikaze Kerry Rides Along with Loser Dan,” it’s not just CBS that can’t admit it’s wrong and can’t let go on the National Guard issue—it’s Kerry himself, who, incredibly, is latching himself onto the already discredited CBS attacks on Bush.
I think Rather’s and Kerry’s motivations go to the core of the liberal psyche—the sense that anyone whom one perceives as a non-liberal, as “not one of us,” is an inferior, disgusting creature that should be squashed. They can’t believe that their ridiculous attacks on Bush’s National Guard service are not working and in fact are hurting themselves, so they just keep at it. It is Dantean. Email entry |
